The process: steps and impact

2. No response? If the defendant does not reply, the judge will render a default judgment.
3. Hearing: If the defendant does reply, a hearing will follow where both parties may present their positions.
4. Judgment: The judge issues a decision. The prevailing party may have the judgment served by a bailiff and can take enforcement measures if necessary.
